On Sunday morning Dunn's Corners Fire Department was invited by Westerly Fire Department to participate in a joint training at the building previously occupied by The Westerly Sun Newspaper. Pawcatuck Fire Department also participated in the training.

This training simulated a commercial structure fire utilizing several smoke machines. The following were the primary objectives:

1) Search & rescue in a multi-level structure
2) Tower/ladder operations
3) Rapid Intervention Team operations with mayday
4) Vent, Enter & Search from second story window
5) Simulated fire attack
